Program

"Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children to play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood."  Fred Rogers

Your child will benefit from the intimate and warm environment that my in-home childcare provides. With ages typically ranging from newborns up to 11 years, children in my care learn to socialize with those outside of their age and development range. With support of an assistant teacher, I am licensed to accept up to 12 children.

I lay a foundation for happy children by encouraging positive attitudes and respect for others. I provide opportunities for children to develop self-esteem, independence, self-control and to realize their true potentials as students and people.

I encourage parents to schedule a visit to learn more about my daily schedule and my approach to care.

I believe the role of the educator is to build a warm environment, mentor and nurture, and to listen.
Infant Care

Infants in my care participate with the rest of the class. I facilitate floor time on a blanket with stimulating toys and adult interaction between nap times. Learning if facilitated through use of the five senses as they explore the world around them. I hold them during meal times as they are typically most accustomed.

Toddlers, Young Children, and Pre-K

As infants grow into toddlers, they have ample opportunity to improve their fine and gross motor skills. Through song, dance, and a variety of teaching approaches, I tailor learning of verbal, physical, emotional and social skills for each child. I have extensive experience with toilet training. Older children also learn to share and care for their younger classmates.

My curriculum goals including having children ready for kindergarten by being able to identify all letters, count to ten and above, know all the colors and shapes, and be able to write their names. Program activities include workbooks, flashcards, art, music and dance, and physical activities.

School Aged Kids & Remote Learning

I also have experience navigating the world of remote learning for young school-aged children. Adapting to different devices and programming, I support kids through this new learning medium so that time away from the traditional classroom is not lost time for their development.
